The Dallas County GOP Begins Push for Younger Iowa Caucus Participation
May 11th Rally Features the First Millennial Republican Candidate to Run for U.S. President
Age is becoming a key focus on candidates vying for the 2024 Presidential election. Iowa will have the spotlight as they host the first presidential caucus and Iowa’s Dallas County will be a key indicator of voter’s desires.
On May 11th, the Dallas County Republicans will host Vivek Ramaswamy, the first millennial candidate to run for President as a Republican, to rally Iowa’s Young Republicans. The event is designed to motivate participation in next year’s Iowa Caucuses. The event will begin at 5:30pm at Royal Flooring, 11801 Hickman in Urbandale, IA. Joining the rally’s effort will be Iowa’s Governor Kim Reynolds.
“We are partnering with the Iowa Federation of Young Republicans, Iowa Federation of College Republicans, The Bull Moose Club, and the Drake University Law School Republican Club for a kickoff rally to begin the ground game for the Iowa Caucuses,” explains Kelley Koch the county’s chair. “Independent and moderate young Democrats should take this opportunity to hear and learn from a Presidential candidate coming to their own backyard.”
Koch says Dallas County is the perfect spot for the kickoff rally because:
- Dallas County is the 4th fastest-growing county in the U.S., growing 7.5% in the last two years, directly affecting its rural “red” political status.
- The median age is 35, a stark contrast to Iowa’s aging population.
- The Dallas County city of Waukee now boasts 32 different spoken languages.
Tickets to attend are Free and available at dallascountygop.org.
